e2v launches new mini helix TWT allowing systems designers to use a single RF amplifier over the multi-octave bandwidth

e2v, a leading global provider of technology solutions for high performance systems, is launching its new N20180 mini helix Travelling Wave Tube (TWT). This latest addition to its range of TWTs now allows system designers to use a single RF amplifier over the multi-octave bandwidth, offering the advantages of reduced system cost and higher reliability.

The new N20180 device offers performance over its entire operating frequency range of 2–18GHz, giving system designers and integrators higher output levels and greater efficiency whilst maintaining a small, lightweight package, designed for the harshest of environmental conditions. The N20180 is the latest addition to e2v’s family of TWTs, benefiting from rugged design principals and proven best practice manufacturing methods.

e2v has a long history in the design and manufacture of broadband helix TWTs (particularly in the electronic warfare and electronic countermeasure (ECM) markets), and specialises in devices for the use within on and off-board airborne systems. The launch of the N20180 follows on from the introduction of the N20181 mini TWT earlier this year. This device delivers over 100W of CW power over the entire 4.5–18GHz operating band, offering high power and efficiency in a rugged compact configuration.
